The Society's official publication is the AlSHP Newsletter. It is published 4-5 times annually and contains society news, information on continuing education programs, drug information
4 times annually. |

Meetings and Continuing Education

The AlSHP is approved by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education. Continuing education opportunities at special rates are available to AlSHP members and include:

ALSHP MEMBERSHIP MEANS |

Effective working relationships with the public, other professional organizations, the legislative and regulatory bodies. |
|
Communication with colleagues. One of the most important advantages of membership in
ALSHP is the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other practitioners
which can take place at meetings, CE programs, and committee meetings. These sessions are a valuable means of keeping up with current developments in the profession.

Leadership on your behalf in developing
consensus on professional and ethical issues, establishing standards of
practice and pursuing the attainment of those standards. |
|
Resources. Experts in various fields of pharmacy practice are available for information, assistance, problem solving, and speaking engagements. |

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES |
|
Active Membership: |
Available to pharmacists licensed by any
state, district or territory of the United States who support the goals
and objectives of the Society. Active members are entitled to vote and
to hold an elected office. |
|
Associate Membership: |
Available to individuals other than
registered pharmacists who support the goals of ALSHP. Associate members receive the
ALSHP Newsletter and general communications oft the Society may attend meetings, and may be granted privilege of the floor, but are not entitled to vote or hold elected office.

|
Joint Membership: |
Available to couples who are pharmacists
and have the same mailing address. Each member has the same
privileges as an active member. |
|
Technician Membership: |
Available under the category of Associate
Membership. Technician members are defined as individuals who, by
their work as a pharmacy technician and their interest in the practice
of pharmacy, make themselves eligible to the same benefits as Associate
members. |
|
Student Membership: |
Available to individuals enrolled in
undergraduate programs in accredited colleges of pharmacy or are
pharmacy graduates who are registered interns. |
|
Resident Membership: |
Available to current pharmacy residents.
Resident members have the same privileges as an active member. |
|
Honorary Membership: |
Available to individuals who are or have
been especially interested in pharmacy practice or have made outstanding
contributions to pharmacy practice or who have been active members of
the AlSHP for 25 consecutive years. This membership is awarded by the AlSHP Board of Directors.

Retired Membership: |
Available to retired pharmacists. |
|

ALSHP is an organization that
prides itself on the many avenues of involvement open to all of its
members. We invite and encourage your active participation in any of

Committee Chairs would be happy to discuss with you committee
descriptions, activities and time commitment. |
